Jessica Michelle Chastain, born on the 24th of March, 1977, is an American actress. She is well-known for her performances in films with female-centric themes. She has won numerous awards which include an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 people in the world in 2012. Chastain developed an interest in acting as a child and made her professional stage debut in 1998 when she played Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending the Juilliard School, she was awarded a talent-holding agreement with television producer John Wells. She was frequently a guest on various television shows, as well as a number of roles in stage productions. Chastain made her debut film in Jolene (2008) aged 31.
