Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the character of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best supporting Actress. The role as Flora McGrath - the daughter of the Scottish muffled pianist from New Zealand at mid-19th Century was hers at an open audition. At nine, she had little or none experience with acting. As a teenager her family relocated to the United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's main character when she was a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the lead role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin had a small role in the 1997 TV movie adaptation to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
